Shani was a beautiful German-Israeli young woman, who went to the Nova rave with her partner and friends. The Hamas terrorists brutally attacked her, violated her body, and posted a video of her unconscious, on a pickup truck.
Shani was an artistic, creative, free-spirited sensitive human, a good hearted person. She loved to travel, dance, and create.
She was also a tattoo artist, and recently her family shared her tattoo designs online, inviting people to commemorate who she was and get one of her tattoos.
When an Israeli tattoo artist in Berlin, Neta, offered to ink Shani’s designs for those who wished for it, I immediately made an appointment.
I refuse to remember Shani the way Hamas wanted us to.
Her life was full of adventures, creativity, and love. She lived vibrantly, a joyful 22-year-old raver who just wanted to dance and believed in the goodness of people.
And that’s how I chose remember her, now that I have one of her designs on my back
