I am a Jewish grandmother writing to you from Rochester, New York. I saw a link on FaceBook (shaniloukink.com) where you encouraged people to download one of Shani’s tattoo designs and to share memories of her with you.
I was not privileged to know your daughter as I don’t live in Israel. But I recently got one of her tattoos which you will recognize in the picture here. I wanted you to know that on the other side of the world there is someone who is remembering Shani.
The two tattoos above Shani’s design are symbolic of my grandchildren who live in Ashdod. I placed Shani’s design with theirs. This way I will see her work and think of her every single day for the rest of my life. I just wanted you to know. I was not privileged to know her personally.
I have no adequate words to comfort you all on the overwhelming and unspeakable loss of your beautiful daughter, Shani. But I wish you all the peace in your hearts and souls that is possible. I am relieved Shani has finally been returned to you so she can rest in Eretz Yisroel.
I will keep Shani and you, her family, in my own heart forever.
